Heavy drivers are required for driving and operating vehicles with capacity of more than three tons of load. They are skilled to transport material at construction sites or waste dumping grounds.
Heavy driver maintains record of material transported to or from the site. They load and unload the material and make sure the material do not cross the over load limit of the vehicle. A heavy driver also operates and maintains the machines for loading and unloading. He must be physically fit as the job demands climbing, lifting and positioning of material. He must know how to control the machine properly and avoid accidents.
The job of a heavy driver requires great confidence and concentration while operating machines. The must possess excellent hand-eye co-ordination and react speedily. He must work in coordination with other team mates and follow the instructions properly. For a candidate to serve as a heavy driver must have a heavy vehicle driving license with no negative record.
